This Christmas, HKSAS launches “Make 367 Christmas Wishes Come True” once again. We believe that even in residential care, every child’s voice and wish deserves to be heard and respected.

 

Last year, residents wrote down their Christmas wishes, which were shared with donors who personally made them come true. The joy and bright smiles when the gifts were received remain unforgettable.

 

One resident, who grew up without parents, wished for a Gundam model. A donor responded immediately, allowing our staff to purchase the gift. For days, the child carried the paper bag everywhere, the first time someone had chosen a gift just for him.

 

There are also wishes that are simple, yet heart-tugging, “I want to go home.” Each time we read these words, our hearts ache quietly.

 

While many of us plan festive meals or new purchases, a child’s wish may be as small as English tutoring, a basketball, earphones, or even a pair of socks, modest wishes filled with hope.
