Hong Kong Student Aid Society was founded in 1957 with the mission to provide needy children and youth with foster care, residential, education and community development services. We have over 5,000 registered users served by more than 300 employees. We operate 3 residential hostels, 7 small group homes and 3 schools. We receive lump sum grants from the Social Welfare Department and funds from other government departments, private donors and other sources. Our annual expenditure is about HK$197 million.

Accounting Manager/Assistant Accounting Manager(HO/AAM/ 2025046)

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Corporate Services and leading the Accounting Department and be reponsible for the following areas:-

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • - Formulating and implementing agency policies on Finance.
  • - Ensuring all statutory reports, such as financial and performance tracking reports, required by various government departments are prepared precisely and punctually.
  • - Providing professional advice to the governing board and ensuring the board is fully aware of the latest situation and its responsibility by compiling analytical reports and related papers.
  • - Providing suggestions to senior management to optimize the financial plan and redeployment of resources.
  • - Preparing budgets, financial reports, variance analysis and relevant committee papers.
  • - Ensuring compliance and conduct internal audit exercises to ensure proper internal control.
  • - Overseeing daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting transaction records.
  • - Monitoring and control business planning and financial management systems including financial projections and forecasts, reporting, investment planning and execution.
  • - Administering project funding applications, utilization and balance, especially with regard to the government and other subvention allocation.
  • - Liaising with bankers and other officials concerning accounting transactions.

Requirements:

  • - Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA or HKICPA) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related disciplines.
  • - A minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification work experience in accounting and financial management.
  • - Working experience in subvented non-governmental organizations will be an advantage.
  • - Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and coordination skills with strong work ethic.
  • - Highly organized and motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • - Proficiency in using computerized accounting system such as Multiable.
  • - Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • - Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Accounting Manager.
