Student from the Hong Kong Student Aid Society Primary School was awarded the “Shining Star” Talent Development Scholarship
Student Liang Sik Kit from the Hong Kong Student Aid Society Primary School participated in the “Shining Star” Talent Development Scholarship sponsored by the Gifted Education Foundation in 2019. He stood out among the participants and became one of the 25 winners. He was awarded the prize by Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, JP, Secretary for Education in the award ceremony held earlier.

Book shopping activities for children in Small Group Homes
Thanks to the sponsorship of Mr. Simon Lee and his friend Derrick, a book shopping activity for children living in Lok Fu and Hau Tak Small Group Homes was organized on 21 and 22 December 2019 respectively. Children were very excited after choosing their favourite books.

Timberland’s Volunteer Team sent Boxes of Love to our children
Timberland initiated the “Box of Hope” Christmas Campaign by collecting Timberland shoeboxes from customers and gifts from staff members to make and send Christmas gift boxes to our children. After many months of preparation, at Christmas in 2019, nearly 300 children in our residential child care services, including Holland Hostel, Mark Memorial Home, Island Hostel, Small Group Homes and Foster Care, each received a Box of Love from Timberland’s Volunteer Team!

Christmas Party of Foster Care
Thanks to the sponsorship of Chak & Associates, a Christmas party for our foster care service was held on 15 December 2019. On that day, nearly 100 foster children and their families together with the volunteers from Chak & Associates had delicious lunch buffet at the Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun. Children had so much fun and enjoyed the party indeed.

Visit of Mr. Van Zuiden to TWS & IH
Mr. Peter Van Zuiden, trustee of The Van Zuiden Charity Trust, paid a visit to Tung Wan Mok Law Shui Wah School and Island Hostel on 26 November 2019. He saw the facilities of the new premises and knew more about the special education programme, residential child care service and the future development of the school and the hostel. He commented that the new premises is large and attractive.

Hong Kong Student Aid Society has recently been named“Good MPF Employer” at the“Good MPF Employer Award 2018-19”Presentation Ceremony organised by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (“MPFA”).

HKSAS percussion band won the champion in the 71st Hong Kong School Music Festival for four years in a row
The 71st Hong Kong School Music Festival was successfully held on March 4, 2019 at the Auditorium of Tuen Mun Town Hall. The percussion band of Hong Kong Student Aid Society Primary School sent a team of 27 people to participate in the competition. After 10 months and nearly 250 hours of practice and training, the percussion band successfully stood out in the 11 teams of the "W468 Senior Group Rhythm Competition" playing “Magellan's Voyage to unknown continent” in the competition and won the champion for four consecutive years.

Kong Kit Hoi, a Primary 6 student, participated in the “Go Code Project” organized by Sino Group and won an outstanding award.

Timberland sent Christmas’ Box of Love to Tung Wan Mok Law Shui Wah School

HKSASPS Percussion Band got the second prize in WGIT Percussion Competition
HKSASPS Percussion Band represented Hong Kong to participate in the World Guard/Indoor Taiwan 2018 and got the second prize in WGIT Percussion Competition (Scholastic Concert A).
