Hong Kong Student Aid Society was founded in 1957 with the mission to provide needy children and youth with foster care, residential, education and community development services. We have over 5,000 registered users served by more than 250 employees. We operate 3 residential hostels, 7 small group homes and 3 schools. We receive lump sum grants from the Social Welfare Department and funds from other government departments, private donors and other sources. Our annual expenditure is about HK$217 million.

The Hong Kong Student Aid Society Limited (“HKSAS”) has launched a pilot project RESTORE+: PARENT-CHILD REUNION & EMOTIONAL HEALING PROGRAMME. The project aims to support children and youth transitioning out of residential care service and their families through trust-building activities, emotional healing, co-living skill training and peer support, with the goal of strengthening family relationships and facilitating smoother family reunion and reintegration.
The project mainly serves residents and discharged service users from Boys’ Homes, Children’s Homes and Small Group Homes, together with their caregivers and family members. A designated social worker will coordinate and deliver casework, family activities, therapeutic interventions and group services during the pre-discharge and post-discharge stages.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement family reunion and emotional healing activities, groups and casework services for children, youth and their caregivers.
- Conduct guided reflection and sharing sessions with families after activities.
- Coordinate therapeutic and experiential activities, including family bonding, creative therapy and co-living skill activities.
- Liaise with hostel staff, caregivers, therapists and external service providers regarding service arrangement and follow-up.
- Assist in assessment, case intake, programme evaluation and preparation of reports and statistics.
- Handle administrative and financial duties related to programme procurement, quotations, reimbursement and budget monitoring.
- Organize peer support groups and regular gatherings for participating families.
- Shift duty is required, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above in Social Work or related discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience in children and youth service.
- Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English will be an advantage.
- Shift work required, including evenings, weekends or Sundays.
- Candidates with experience in therapeutic groups, family work or programme coordination will be an advantage.
Contract Period: 2 July 2026 to 30 June 2027
Working location: Wong Tai Sin, Tuen Mun, Tseung Kwan O, Lok Fu
