Hong Kong Student Aid Society was founded in 1957 with the mission to provide needy children and youth with foster care, residential, education and community development services. We have over 5,000 registered users served by more than 250 employees. We operate 3 residential hostels, 7 small group homes and 3 schools. We receive lump sum grants from the Social Welfare Department and funds from other government departments, private donors and other sources. Our annual expenditure is about HK$217 million.

Responsibilities:-

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will be responsible for daily operation, new enhancement initiatives, and new services development.

This position presents an array of exciting opportunities. You will be at the forefront of planning, developing, and orchestrating the launch of new services in our upcoming state-of-the-art service building, set to open its doors in 2028. These services will encompass a diverse range, including a Day Activity Centre and Hostel for Severely Mentally Handicapped Persons, a Career Development Service, and a Transitional Home for Vulnerable Youngsters, among other offerings. Moreover, you will collaborate closely with the CEO and the Executive Committee, contributing to the formulation and implementation of a progressive service development plan and policy that will guide the organization towards even greater sustainable success.

-  Support CEO to lead and monitor the assigned service units and engage with the 

   community to explore and develop potential new services and set them up in New Service

   Building.

-  Ensure efficient and quality delivery of our services to service users and community, to

   meet SWD’s standard as appropriate

-  Render professional advice to the CEO and supervise the assigned units to support

   handling internal & external affairs, crisis management, and liaise with any statutory

   authorities.

-  Assist the CEO in efficiency improvement initiatives in the organization in both service

   provision and central administration.

-  Assist with and execute any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

   and the Executive Committee.

Requirements:-   

-  Must be a registered Social Worker.

-  Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in supervisory level and covering children and

   family, youth and intellectual disabilities services will be required. Prior experience in

   education services is preferred.

-  Solid experience in managing or overseeing redevelopment or new service development

   projects is an advantage.

-  Passionate about care, service and well-being of our service users.

-  Excellent team player with leadership and possess good interpersonal and communication

   skills.

-  Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
