28May"Financial Education Workshops" on smart financial management techniques
Two online sessions of "Financial Education Workshop" were held for our parents of Family Energy on 22 May 2021. This was jointly launched by the Hong Kong Association of Banks and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and supported by the Hong Kong Student Aid Society (HKSAS).

25MayFirst experience of Kendama. Patience and concentration training
Lok Fu Small Group Home held a Kendama experience activity in May. The instructor taught residents the gestures and simple movements of paying Kendama, and also demonstrated how to create different personal fancy styles.

21AprKMB donates used and retired bus to Tung Wan Mok Law Shui Wah School
Students and teachers of Tung Wan Mok Law Shui Wah School, operated by Hong Kong Student Aid Society, will now be able to enjoy learning on a retired bus provided by The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. (“KMB”) under its Used and Retired Bus Programme.

15AprChildren worked together to create a unique art gallery
With the help of coworkers, residents of the Lok Fu Small Group Home turned a corridor into an impressive art gallery. The refurbishment works of the art gallery were all done by the residents, from scrapping, priming, painting and assembly of display cabinets.

07AprDIY Ukulele Demonstrated Creativity
Under the epidemic situation, the Small Group Home conducted an online "DYI Ukulele" workshop for the children. The instructor demonstrated techniques to assemble and decorate a ukulele. It helped inspire the children’s creativity and let them enjoy the pleasure of arts. After the workshop, they played their own instrument to share music with others.

06AprGet children close to nature
Children of Hau Tak Small Group Home visited Po Kwu Wan in Sai Kung earlier to explore the embankment used by fishermen in the past for fish farming, learning about mangroves and its relations to ecosystem. The activity helped cultivate the children’s curiosity about nature, and let them understand the close relationship between nature and daily life.

This Easter, our Small Group Homes received thoughtful gifts from Timberland for the children, adding joy and unforgettable memories to them during the festival. We express sincere thanks to Timberland for supporting and caring for our children and youth over the years.

10MarAlumni Jet Chou Sai Kit shared the joy and skills of Chinese chess at Holland Hostel
Jet is one of the Outstanding Young Persons in 2020 and a grandmaster of Chinese chess. On 10 March 2021, he returned to Holland Hostel where he grew up and shared the joy and skills of Chinese chess with the boys. Through Chinese chess, the boys’ cognitive skills and sustained attention can be trained and improved.

26Feb“The Voice of Hau Tak" Singing Contest to demonstrate voice talent
Wearing a mask to sing did not diminish our participants' love for singing. The children of Hau Tak Small Group Homes enthusiastically signed up for the Singing Contest. They demonstrated their personal styles in performing different songs to judges and audience, and their performances were well received. Congratulations to all the winners!

09FebSelf-made pressed flower greeting card to express care to their loved ones
The Small Group Home held a "Pressed Flower Greeting Card Workshop" in February. The participating children were encouraged to appreciate people and things around them, and to use flowers to make pressed flower decorations with a self-designed card. They also added words or paintings to convey their feelings to friends, family or caregivers.

27JanKam Lung gave encouragement to the youth
Ng Kam Lung is our alumni of Mark Memorial Home and Holland Hostel. He returned to Holland Hostel earlier to share his growth experience with the youth residents. He encouraged them to explore their personal interests, set goals and have self-confidence, and strive to unleash potentials to live a brilliant life.
